The trip home.....

was mixed for me. It was nice seeing people and the town, but sometimes (more often than not) my family dynamic is so off it just frustrates me. I honestly thought 5 months gone from certain people would have been long enough to at least warrant a hug or a hi, guess not.

I wish and hope that some of the relationships I keep will change, I attempt to change them, attempt to accept them but neither seems to happen. Maybe these relationships are so set in a screwed up way that change is impossible for them, maybe this is how they are to be, I am not sure. I do know however that I cannot and will not keep up always being the "trying" one. The one that makes the effort, the phone calls, tries with the hugs. I just don't have it in me to do so anymore.

I am having iron problems again, in tandem with girlie problems and really needed my family to talk to, bounce things off of and just be with. Most of the family was there to talk, listen, try to understand. The one person I needed wasn't. She always pulls away. I am always the one to over react, it's hard. She's the one person I need to tell me it's going to be okay, give me a hug and a kiss and let me know she's there- and it NEVER happens.

It's going to be quite a long time before I come back to visit. I'm okay with that now.

I'll get pictures up here soon.

life, in general

is pretty good.
Spring is trying to come to the INW (inland Northwest) like nothing I've ever seen. But, winter keeps attempting to disrupt the beauty that is Spring.

Cisco is great- adapting really well to his new home, and lovin the backyard!

The house is slowly coming along, although we have had a few major hiccups in the past few weeks. 2 water pipes exploded and the washing machine broke. YAY! Sometimes I think renting really is the way to go. LOL

The job is wonderful, and Fishstick seems to be loving his new line of employment. That man never ceases to amaze me, he thrives and rocks any and every challenge that he comes in contact with. Man I love him.

We just ordered the MLB package on Comcast so we can see the Giants play some baseball!

For our one year anniversary we will be trekking across the state to see the Giants battle the Mariners over Memorial Day Weekend! I can't wait.

The yard is slowly starting to take shape, and flowers are blooming. I love color, and I love not having everything look so darn barren. It's beautiful!

I travel home in 21 days to see family and attend a wedding, and I am so excited for my trip! It's been 4 months- almost 5 since I have seen my family and man O man do I miss them. It's going to be really weird not seeing Joel for 4 days, but a good healthy dose of family is what I have been needing as of late.

Things

I hate my body right now.
I love having someone to love.
I wish I could control certain things.
I'm kinda down right now, but I am not going to stay down.
Coffee good.
I have never been more ready for spring.
I can't wait to get back into school.
I will be an MD some day :)
It blows me away how rude some people are.
It's going to be a music filled Sunday!

I am so sick

of hearing pregnant women attribute EVERYTHING to being pregnant. I don't want to hear about your pregnancy. I don't care that you are pregnant. Please keep it all to yourself.

Thanks

Oh Dear God.....

Sometimes I can't believe people are like this!

"Lone Grove firefighters methodically searched each damaged or destroyed structure, spray-painting a large "X" on homes after inspection. Residents were then allowed to check for belongings.

Authorities gave as much as 35 minutes of warning that a twister was approaching.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 6:50 p.m., meaning a twister was imminent and residents should take shelter. Another warning was issued at 7:15 p.m. when the actual tornado was spotted. It hit Lone Grove at 7:25 p.m.

"A lot of people just didn't leave," Carter County Sheriff Ken Grace said. "

is it sad that a tornado wiped a town out, yes
should these people look to live where tornados don't roll through town, yes
is 35 minutes more than enough time to remove your ass from where the tornado is going to hit- DUH!

and all I can do is shake my head!

My first home improvement project...

The dining room needed to be tackled!

So it's the first room I decided to re do. I am very pleased with how it came out. It feels very very warm and cozy now!

This is what happens when I have too much time on my hands...

Your Spiritual Number is Two
You bring kindness and harmony into other people's lives.
Whenever a situation or idea seems extreme, you try to lend some balance.

Right now, your life is about benefiting from choices you've made in your past.
You have done your best to be a good person, and it is starting to pay off.

You are an idealist with interesting ideas. You can't help but see all of the beauty in the world.
But you are also aware of the world and its limitations. You have realistic expectations.

You Look Like an Aquarius
It's likely that you are very striking. You stand out in a room.
You are probably also taller than average, and that also helps you get noticed.

You have classical facial features... what some might call a handsome face.
You have are attractive in a cool way. You're so attractive, it's intimidating.

Like most Aquarius people, you are probably extremely independent... both in your thoughts and actions.
You find other people fascinating, and you develop deep, long lasting friendships.

You Are Buttermilk Pancakes
Your prefer traditional, old fashioned foods.
You shy away from anything fake, and you like meals with simple ingredients.

It's not likely someone would find margarine or diet soda in your kitchen.
Instead, someone might find a loaf of homemade bread baking or a soup simmering.

Your Word is "Hope"
You see life as an opportunity for learning, growth, and bringing out the best in others.
No matter how bad things get, you always have at least a glimmer of optimism.

You are accepting and forgiving. You encourage those who have wronged you to turn over a new leaf.
And while there is a lot of ugliness in the world, you believe that almost no one is beyond redemption.

You Are 20% Pirate
Arrr, yer nay a gentleman o' fortune, an' ye dasn't make like yer one.
Ye rather stay on dry land than take to the seas lookin' fer booty.
Peg legs an' eye patches really aren't yer thing. And parrots scare ye.
So stay away from the Caribbean, unless yer prepared to walk the plank.

It's starting

I'm starting to sink a little. The snow hasn't really stopped. There is so much on the ground right now. Spokane got a record amount in two days, it stopped for a short moment and now is coming back. The forecast doesn't look great. I need some sunshine and for it to warm up a little. I have applied for a ton of work, had one interview and still nothing. I feel like I need to cry but I won't let myself, I chose to move up here.

Christmas is a few days away and this will be the first one of my life that I am not with my family. It hurts a little. I think I'll go back to reading, that seems to be a safe place for me right now.

Thursday, December 11, 2008

Been here 8 days!

We have been in the new house in Spokane for 8 days now. I am starting to get more familiar with the town, I'm in love with the new house and a little apprehensive of the weather. The kitties are in love with all the room we have and the stairs down to the basement.

This move has been so amazing for me. It gives me a chance to build a life with my fishstick. I will forever love and miss my family, but I needed this. I needed to know that I am a person, and that I can and will do amazing things on my own (so to speak). We have family here that have been so wonderful in welcoming us to the Northwest!

I never realized how much focus I put on taking care of people and work. I defined myself by it, I made it everything in my world. And yes those are wonderful things to spend time doing, there is so much more to this life. I have nothing but life to live, I'm a newlywed with an amazing man, a beautiful house, and nothing but opportunity around every corner in my new world!

I love California, and will forever be a California girl, but I am so excited and happy to be where I am right now!

YAY!!!!
